Where did you grow up?
West Valley City, Utah. We moved to Arizona the summer of 2015. I thought I was going to die in the heat.

What are your hobbies (besides CrossFit)?
I LOVE gardening, photography, and finding creative ways to teach my kids.

What is your occupation?
Before having kids I was a Construction Project Manager. Now I spend my days being a mommy and doing preschool for a small group of kiddos. My current job is much harder than the previous one.

How were you first introduced to CrossFit?
McKelle France posted a nutrition challenge for non-members on Facebook. I needed change in my life and without hesitation spontaneously signed up.

What is your favorite WOD/movement?
I love partner WOD’s! I also like lifting anything over my head and squatting with it. (it makes me feel strong) so the snatch, front squat, overhead squat, clean, thrusters, push Jerk, clean/jerk. I loved learning the split jerk this week! I really love it all!

What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Running! Running has always been a mental battle for me. Also single/double unders, and box jumps when I hit my shins. (actually, When I first came in I thought “there is no way I can jump up on a 20” box, that’s half my height.” But now I can and I am so proud of that.)


What CrossFit accomplishment are you most proud of?
Competing in the open!!! I am also proud that I ran the mile and the workout Miracle on Ice. I am proud of myself for getting up at 6am (most days) to work out. But mostly I am proud of myself for never giving up, if a WOD intimidates me I just take it one step at a time and tell myself to just keep going. We don’t always like to show pride in our accomplishments. But I am so proud of my small accomplishments at CrossFit Blade!

What is your favorite song to WOD to?
Anything fast and upbeat really but fav’s are Skillet, Fight Song, Party Rock Anthem, I Gotta feeling, Black Eyed Peas & Can’t Stop the Feeling.


What would you like to accomplish next through CrossFit?
So much… pushups on the floor & my first strict pull up are top of the list. I want to focus on improving my form on everything and knowing the movements better. Then on to do a hand stand push up and I can’t wait to do some gymnastics!

I love my family, seeing people be and do good in this world and learning new things including CrossFit!
I eat for every reason imaginable. Food has been a life long journey of understanding.  I love to eat fresh, non processed foods from my garden and it makes me feel so good when I do. I choose quality now over price because my body deserves it. I hope to get to a point where I understand what best to eat to fuel my body to feel good and love it.
I will never stop learning and growing, be true to myself and love and accept those around me who are all on different journeys of their own.
I am so grateful for the blessing CrossFit Blade has been in my life.
